"Under the Boughs"

uhh i made this for the hexcode palette make anything jam 2024. this was made with the winning palette 'Hot Panda' and it's a digital painting of a hawthorne.

i wanted to make it about beltane (hence the May Bush/hawthorne tree) cos of the bonus jam theme "holiday" but ran out of time to draw lil bows n eggshells n things on its branches. i dont have any real connection to beltane but i do love me some tree worship. anywho, i also added 5 of my own colours to the palette (cos of the other 'more' theme):

it's album art for a silly lil music project ive been working on with my partner where we call ourselves Elf Love and sing about reasons you should love dwarves n hobbit. more than anything tho i used this jam as a way to gear myself up to make my lil twine game for SuNoFes which starts in like a week lol

reference image i used here (u'll notice i ripped it straight from the wiki page about beltane cos this pic & accompanyin text reminded me of how i'd leave offerings for this 1 tree as child + n then right after remembering that, i wrote a song called pixie shake for the thing - so this picture is responsible for everything actually)

made in krita with a wacom one, the default brush set & Lur Noise's brush pack for krita (free, highly recommended if u like natural brushes)
